Omggg, I can't believe it's the end of the semester already. Anddd, what am I still stuck with on the final week of class? A 1500 word take home test for one of my units! D: At this stage, God knows who has the mood to deal with assignment?! :( :(
Anyway. I can't believe time flies so fast that it's coming to be my 4th month here in Perth! :O Time flies especially this semester! After next week will be finals and the week after that will be my semester break!
A quick recap for this semester, I must say its been challenging! I mean in terms of being in class in another campus let alone another country, initially wasn't that different in Miri until I come to meet different people along the way. It's been a great experience, especially when it comes to working in groups on assignments. Throughout this semester 3 out of 4 units requires group work and I was lucky enough to deal with people from different types of angle.
I used to think that working in groups there is bound to be a free rider or a one man stand. Its always the same issue and I've experience them both in my last few semesters in Miri. However, this time it's quite different. I like dealing with people that share the same objective as me, which is no matter what, getting the job done is first in line. But there are times when you bumped into difficult people and not to mention difficult situations where its hard to deal with especially with both sides, assignment due date and conflict urges pressure at the same time.
All in all, I must say, group work is always forever challenging, but the key to overcome this is through the use of communication. I come to realize communication is definitely important no matter what kind of people you will end up working with. The style and interpretation is vital that you do not want to create a chaotic situation where every member of the group feels uncomfortable and demotivated to carry on with the assessment.
I honestly think that the whole point why universities encourage group work is because the experience gained from that will definitely bring us further in the future especially in the working life. I appreciate the time I experienced throughout this semester and hope for smooth sailing in my final semester in coming August!!
Ahhh, sucha wordy post. :P
Signing off for now!
