Toast Cafe x Sunday Brunch

Hello again! I'm blogging again just to act productive when I really wasn't during this whole free week. -.- *lifeless kid

So anyway, it's gonna be a short post on food. So if you're hungry and you love eggs then you might want to stop reading here. :D

Few weeks back I had lunch with my friends after church at East Perth. It was my first time driving into the city actually. :O Was driving my friend's car making me more nervous. So anyway, thank god for the gps. Haha!

Bryan introduced us to have lunch at Toast Cafe which is a little cafe with the view of a lake. Quite a nice place to eat actually.

Surprisingly there were a lot of people at the Toast Cafe but the cafe next to it is quite empty.

We were given a duck while waiting for our seats.
Finally got a table outside but we switched and sat inside cuz the table was a little shaky.

 Vintage look around the cafe

Our table number

Chai latte

I don't remember what is it call but i think it's egg wrapped with chicken inside.

Egg Benedict! Yummmers!

Corn Fritters with Avodaco slice and egg benedict

All tasted really gooood! :}

Peaceful scenery + Good Foood = Happy Girl! :D

That is all for now!

Boyfie is flying over tonight and will be reaching tomorrow morning!

Can't wait after not meeting for 2 months! :D

Language problem?

Blogging again because it sort of feels... addictive? Teehee. Good thing. :P

Just a short post about language. The perks of how our mother tongue actually gives a big impact on how we communicate with people everyday.

Believe it or not, my mother tongue was English. I used to talk English to my family and friends and not know a single word of Mandarin. Back in town, Chinese people would normally talk Mandarin to one another while I was considered the odd one out. Partly is because my Dad doesn't speak Mandarin, while Mum wants us to be exposed in English at an early stage cuz to her English is waaayy important than Mandarin.

So anyway, I was initially the banana. Wait, still considered a banana really. Maybe half a banana. :P I admit I do not speak English fluently, nor the fact that I suck at grammar and I can't tell a difference between a verb and a noun. wtf. Don't blame me lah, I didn't go for English tuition back in the day. D: But frankly speaking, that was the only language I could used besides Malay (which I still suck at) to talk to my friends in class.

Back in early kindergarten and primary 1 or 2,

IT USED TO BE SO HARD MAKING FRIENDS, LITERALLY SPOKE IN BM WITH MY CHINESE FRIENDS CUZ ITS EASIER THAT WAY.

The fact that Mum send me to a Bahasa medium school wasn't that tough to catch up after Primary 4. But still didn't know a tad of Chinese. Maybe understand but don't know how to answer back. And also didn't dare to speak cuz scared might go out of tune. fml. -.-

Shoutout to the very handsome Ruan Jing Tian /阮經天!!

So anyway, after the influence from friends, heavy quota of Taiwanese Dramas was involved, I started to voice out a little. Oh yea, I also took Chinese class during High School. Lower Chinese actually, I think my Mandarin was about Primary 4 standard lah now. Very good liao hor, at least can read and talk, my writing still sucks though.

Nowwww, I speak Mandarin fluently like a boss. Heck, I even quit speaking English to Mum and spoke Mandarin instead. Made new friends in Uni and spoke Mandarin, no one knew that I once did not know to speak Mandarin at all. *successs

But anyway, although its nice to have another language aside, it's still important to maintain  my mother tongue. Sometimes talking too much Mandarin lead me direct translate whatever into English. Which sounds really weird. But I'm glad Mum made the right choice to have me and my brothers speak English at home. I guess it's a good practice for us. Though its still consider broken English with heavy heavy Malaysian accent. :B

Looking forward to learn new languages in the future. I guess it's pretty cool to go another country and actually understand what they say. I wanna learn Thai and get cheap bargains by talking their language when I go Thailand looor. Teeehee!!

Oklaaa, enough shits, gonna go to bed now. Blog much sooon! :)

不相信我会写华语是吗?那我就现在写给你们看咯~哈哈哈哈!!

对不起,请你们原谅我,我太无聊了!嘿嘿~

*awkward silent*

Here's a very Asian style family photo to end this post.
I miss home! :'(

Melbourne Zoo x Williamstown x Crown Casino

Here comes a lengthy post! Trying my best to be as efficient as possible  :P

So going back to my Melbourne trip last January. wtf, cant believe its been 3 months already. See how time flies? Anyway, it was a fine day in Melbourne and we decided to do something tourist-y. Cousin brought us for a little sight seeing the other day.

Started off the day by visiting the Melbourne Zoo. It's been a while since I last went to look at animals so I was pretty excited. :D

I personally love the elephant village, they were so cuteee!

This peacock was out on loose walking around the zoo :O

Girrafees! Love the printss!

And this is the very famous koala....'s butt. -.-
Sleeping like a boss showing off its butt to everyone else!

Random toilet bowls around the zoo reminding people to fight for extinction!

The depressed looking kangaroo lol !

This otter is practically freezing in this position for i duno how long while everyone is busy taking photos.

Star of the day ( Still don't know what is he staring at)

This was sorta scary cuz we were crossing a bridge and over looking at the lions sleeping at the bottom.
What happens if the bridge suddenly snapped? :O

Lovee the seal show, too smart pls!

That was about it at the zoo.
Before we left, Mum went to get soft cone ice cream from the ice cream truck!

Omg it was soooo goooood!!

After the zoo, we head over to Williamstown  to get Fish&chips which is a place similar to Perth's Fremantle.

Yes, I was lucky enough to see the water plane take off!!

These birds are crazy hungry!
If youre holding food walking around, be prepared to get peck!

I'm a fan of boats, will definitely wanna go sailing in the future :P

Pretty view of the city along with boats!

It was getting pretty late so we went back to the city,

Dropped by Crown Casino to catch the the torch thing, I dunno how to describe it. xD

Graffiti art, too awesome!

The whole wall is filled with freestyle art, I just can stop staring!

Spot Snow White!!

City of Melbourne

Mario with a guitar? How awesome is this?

Can you believe its about 9pm from this picture?

It's 9pm and the sun was just about the set,

Finally, the torch thing finally lit up :D

I can feel the heat just by looking at it, no kidding.

That is all for the day, went home and had dinner!

Nom nom nom!!

Life is gooood!

Shall blog again another day!

Yay yay for free week!! :D :D
